Bucks ACO

The Buckinghamshire Association of Cricket Officials (BACO) is a thriving community of cricket officials (umpires and scorers) based in or near Buckinghamshire and our membership is currently around 150.

BACO is affiliated to ECB ACO and has a number of functions within the county of Buckinghamshire. Our first responsibility is to recruit and train new umpires and scorers, providing them with the skills necessary to serve as a competent official, either with a local club or to higher levels of the game from league cricket and county cricket through to the professional game. We also appoint to Bucks age group and over 50, 60, 70 age group matches.

As a member of BACO we are able to provide you with umpiring and scoring opportunities that BACO appoint to. For those that want to progress, we provide a clear and transparent pathway for all officials via independent league panels, such as the Cherwell and Thames Valley Leagues, ultimately leading to the Home Counties Premier League for those that aspire to the highest levels such as the national panel. In addition to training and officiating matches, we are a social bunch and try to meet quite regularly in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Our president is Jeremy Spring and our Board Officials are:

  • Chairman - Nick Piper
  • Secretary - Lee Wiles (wiles_lee61@hotmail.com)
  • Treasurer - Yolanda Harris
  • Education Officer (umpires) - Mark Greaves
